From I-90 eastbound at I-93 northbound |
As you approach the exit for I-93 north,
follow the signs and take the South Station
exit.
At the first light, turn left onto Kneeland Street towards downtown.
(Kneeland has a very small street sign near
the traffic light. Look for the large <-
Chinatown sign)
As you cross Washington Street, Kneeland
becomes Stuart Street. Stay in the left
lane.
You will be forced into a right turn onto
Charles Street.
Follow Charles street through Boston Common
then turn Right on Beacon street.
As you top the hill there is a difficult
right to make onto Park street (see notes).
Come down the hill to Tremont Street and
turn right.
Now the tricky part. Back into the alley
named Hamilton Place.
If you can't turn right onto Park Street, it
is possible to continue on Beacon Street and
turn right directly onto Tremont but this
could be tricky due to traffic. Also, Beacon
Street from Park to Tremont is very narrow
and bad parallel parking could make it
difficult to get through. |
|
::: Secondary Directions ::: |
With so many ways to get lost, find Boston
Commons on your map.
Hamilton Place is at the northeast corner of
the park, on Tremont street. |
|
::: Miscellaneous Notes ::: |
This is not a good place for trucks. The
crew at this facility will help you stop
traffic while you back (sight side) in.
Stand by on the left side of Tremont while
you secure their help. Don't go it alone-
the Boston traffic will run you down.
If you are on a multi truck show going in,
you can stand-by on Park street midway up
the block.
(not legal, but a much safer
street than Tremont). Traffic will adapt to
the lane being blocked
Like cats and dogs, there must be
cooperation between the buses and trucks as
there is very little room in this alley to
work. I.e., Buses may need to drop off and
go away during load.
See photo
here.
There is very little storage. dead cases may
need to be reloaded onto trucks during the
day.
Offsite parking is down by the wharf at the
amphitheater. |
